In the hall built above the ancient cistern, hand-carved into the compact porphyry cliff in the 12th century, you will be seduced by the magnificent view of the valley. This cistern, dug down to a depth of 6.50 meters into the rock, wrapped in minute bricks and a thin, waterproof lime plaster, represents one of the earliest secrets of the castle’s construction: its original bottom still remains a mystery, adding an aura of fascination and mystery to the breathtaking view from the hall above.
